Here is what '' If Not, Then What?'' Curator Cecilia Wee wrote about the event

“More than colours and forms, it is sounds and their arrangements that fashions societies.” Jacques Attali

As Attali implies, the capacity of sound to organise collective affect and inspire change, is vitally important. This event aims to gather like minded people to create a social space where ideas can be exchanged. Groups including Treasure Teeth, Spring Yard and Circuit Breaker – all of whom have been or are students at Chelsea College of Art & Design – will showcase non-conventional, DIY and self-organised approaches to music making.

Edd Simpson is a 2nd year BA Fine Art student at Chelsea College of Art & Design. He is part of London based brotherly duo Circuit Breaker who use invented instruments, broken electronics and household objects to challenge failure in spontaneous forms of music making and the inevitability of rehearsed song. Since 2006, Edd has also been releasing tapes and organising music nights across London under the banner
Golden Cranes.
